The Hells Canyon area extends from Eagle Valley
(Richland) to Pine
Valley (Halfway and Cornucopia) to the
Snake River and Hells Canyon (Oxbow). The

The Baker County Panhandle is

Our area's
unique geology, offers a host of adventuresome opportunities for
amateur geology and scenic photography enthusiasts. Eastern Oregon was once an
area of tropical seas punctuated by volcanic islands. The area, sinking
for eons underneath the mountains of western Idaho, produced the
striking topography of Baker County's Panhandle region. Cornucopia's
lode veins amid its basalt formations are unique to northeastern Oregon
as well.
